Campus Ministry Launches Its Logo
Akel Victoriano, PUP News, Volume 7, Issue No. 13, July 1-15, 2010The Polytechnic University of the Philippines Campus Ministry (PUP CM) will launch its logo on July 19 right after the Mass of the Holy Spirit at the Interfaith Chapel.
According to the Campus Ministry Team, the logo aims to promote the vision and mission of their office. PUP CM envisions its office to be a dynamic faith-community committed to the total development of future leaders and nation builders. To successfully achieve this, the office should build a faith-community of servant leaders and young witnesses of the gospel toward integral development.
The Campus Ministry Office explains the logo this way: (1) the two hands bespeak of servant leadership and partnership; (2) the cross in the middle symbolizes the desire of the faith-community (the servants of Christ) of the star (PUP) to be Christ-centered as it strives for excellence; (3) the different colors of the people symbolize the individuality of each member of the PUP-Christian community bonded by the same faith; (4) the globe-like background represents the efforts of the ministry to reach out to different kinds of people throughout the world to spread the word of the Lord; (5) the leaves symbolize continuous growth and integral formation of the ministry by the grace of God; (6) the rays represent the light shining in every servant leader of the Community that reflects to others through service, charity, and integrity with the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
This logo was formed through the combined top three winning entries of the PUP CM logo-making contest in November 2009. With the help of the student-volunteers, Dr. Mely Padilla and Prof. Avelina Bucao, the logo was finalized and now ready for launching.
On July 20, PUP Campus Ministry, in cooperation with the Light of Jesus Family, a catholic charismatic community founded by Br. Bo Sanchez - noted catholic lay preacher, best selling author, and inspirational writer - will hold "The Feast," a Eucharistic celebration with praise, worship, and preaching, open to the PUP Community, at the Bulwagang Balagtas, Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resources Center, 3:30-6:00 p.m.
